There are so many benefits to waking up and eating oatmeal in the morning! First, it is a low-calorie meal, it contains about 150 calories in 1 cup of oatmeal. Second, first thing in the morning oatmeal helps cure any cravings you may have and, since it is a complex carbohydrate, it will keep you fuller longer. Due to its soluble and insoluble fibrous make-up, it will help lower cholesterol and stabilize your blood glucose levels. This nutrient rich meal can benefit you in more ways than one, especially when trying to reach a weight loss goal.

Between the anti-inflammatory response due to bioactive peptides and the positive cardiovascular factors provided through high levels of essential fats, this fish is a necessary addition to your diet. Implementing salmon will positively affect your brain function due to the already abundant amount of omega 3 fatty acids in your brain. To address the elephant in the room: You may have heard about fish having high levels of mercury and if you didn’t know, lots of mercury plus your nervous system equals a very bad day. Now, that said, salmon is considered to be one of several fish species that have low enough levels of mercury that consuming it regularly is not any cause for concern.
