Jeanne Welch | Zumba Instructor
I’ve always enjoyed being in the gym! I began working in Athletic Clubs at 15 years old. I started playing racquetball at 13 and began traveling to tournaments soon after. My greatest accomplishment in Racquetball was winning State & Regionals, which was in 1989. At that time I was offered a Sponsorship and maybe could’ve went Pro, but I decided to go to work in the Corporate world. I continued to play, but not as much. I also went to OU for a couple of years, got married and moved to the countryside. Racquetball took a backseat for about 13 years. I experienced some ups and downs along with many life changes between 1991 & 2005. In 2005 I married Trace and it was then that I was able to become a stay-at-home mommy for about 5 years! I had two daughters ages 4 & 12 and he had an 8 year old daughter when we married. During this time I discovered ZUMBA! I’ve always loved to dance! I thought to myself, this is the greatest kind of exercise! I entered the ‘gym’ work world again in 2010.
In 2015, at the age of 45, my sister talked me into getting my Zumba Certification. A little known fact about me that most people don’t know is…I have a HUGE fear of speaking in front of a large group. (Crazy, I know right?! Who would’ve thought?) 😊 So, I definitely had to step out of my comfort zone! I thought I would try it, but didn’t know if I’d really be able to lead a class and be an instructor, due to my…you could say “stage fright”. Well, I am SO glad I did! I absolutely love the people I’ve met through Zumba! I LOVE how you can dance without judgement!
All you have to do is move your body and you’ll have a fun, great workout! Seeing everyone smile, giggle and dance just makes my day and my heart happy! I’m not perfect, by all means, but I try my hardest to make sure everyone has a great time while exercising!!!
If you’ve never tried Zumba, YOU NEED TO!
Step out of your comfort zone and come have some FUN! If I can do it, you can too!!! -Jeanne
